Interview with Xpert Rodent Solutions

Rats can be extremely difficult to control when you have an infestation. Due to their ability to rapidly reproduce, just a few rats can turn into a serious rat problem in a very short time. One study shows a pair of rats can grow to a population of 1,250 in as little as one year.

Should You Seek Help From a Professional?

In difficult situations where the infestation is out of hand, it can be helpful to seek guidance from a pest management professional (PMP). We recently spoke with William, the owner of Xpert Rodent Solutions, to learn more about their rodent-control strategies using the Goodnature A24 Rat & Mouse Trap.

Xpert Rodent Solutions is a PMP serving the San Mateo County in California.  They offer toxin-free rodent control and never use any poisons in their methods. Below is our conversation:

AT:  What types of sites have you had success with when deploying the A24?

XRS:  Mostly larger residential properties that have more wild, natural landscapes, however, we deploy them wherever the outdoor rodent activity is high.

AT:  At the sites mentioned above, what other rodent-control methods did you or they try?

XRS:  We usually start off with standard wooden-based kill traps. We never use poison ever.

AT:  Why do your customers choose the A24?

XRS:  We highly recommend them to be proactive in rodent control.

AT:  Why do you choose to use the A24?

XRS:  They make the day-to-day rodent management effortless.

AT:  How long did it take to see success once the A24 was deployed?

XRS:  We found that because the A24 is always armed and ready for action, we usually have success immediately.

AT:  What were any challenges you encountered with the A24?

XRS:  So far 0 challenges have occurred using the A24 traps.

AT:  Do you sell them and then maintain them? Lease them out both?

XRS:  We currently sell each trap as part of our annual service agreement including 4 visits 1 approximately every 3 months to inspect / test / replace bait pump and C02 cartridges.

We are very confident in using the A24 rat traps. We highly recommend them to our clients. It has simplified our ongoing trapping efforts and saves our clients a lot of money in the long run. It is truly an evolution in rodent control. Thank you for a superior product that is not made in China and is very important to us at www.XpertRodentSolutions.Com.

More About Pest Management Professionals

Xpert Rodent Solutions (or a PMP in your area) can help you identify where rodents may be entering your home or business. They can help uncover damage that often occurs with a rodent problem — such as chewing of electrical wires in your home or vehicle. Damage to wiring is a serious fire hazard and can put your home and family at risk. It is believed that up to 20% of undetermined structure fires in the US each year are due to rats or mice.

Whether your home was built in the 1940s or in 2017, there’s always a way for a determined mouse to burrow into your home.”

Rats or mice do not have collar bones and their long bodies can squeeze through holes about the size of a quarter for a rat, and about ¼ inch for a mouse. Rats use their whiskers and nose to find small openings they can fit through. Any crack or space not sealed properly will allow them to enter. Other points of entry can be through plumbing — such as sink or tub drains and toilets.

An experienced PMP such as Xpert Rodent Solutions can help with:

  • Inspection of Property
  • Assessment of Rodent Problem
  • Rodent Proofing
  • Repairs of Rodent Damage
  • Preventative Maintenance
A24 Rat Trap

A Toxin-Free & Quick Kill Solution

A rodent trap will not trap anything without a lure. Fresh lure is the key to any trap’s success. The A24 Automatic Rat & Mouse trap includes a specially-formulated long-life lure. When used in our Automatic Lure Pump (ALP), the lure is automatically dispersed over the course of six months. This keeps the lure smelling fresh so it never stops attracting rodents.

When the rodent enters the trap chamber to reach the lure, its head brushes against the trigger, causing the CO2-powerd pneumatic striker to fire and kill the rodent instantly. Within seconds, the trap automatically resets itself and is ready for the next rat or mouse. When used outdoors, dead rodents are often scavenged by other animals. Since there are no poisons used, there is no risk of secondary poisoning to wildlife or pets.

A24 Rat Trap How It Works

Putting It All Together

For rodent control to be successful, changes need to be put in place to ensure rodents don’t return. Hiring a professional is one option in making sure all measures are taken to keep your home and property free of rats & mice.

Here are some steps you can take on your own or with the help of a PMP:

  • Seal any small openings where a rodent may enter your home or structure
  • Any gaps remaining in the home should be less than 1/4 inch in size
  • Keep trash in covered trash cans and empty often
  • Keep dog food, chicken feed, and other animal food sealed tightly in chew-proof containers
  • Do not stack firewood near the home
  • Keep food in cabinets or pantry in tightly-sealed containers
  • Keep shrubs and other greenery trimmed and away from the exterior

These precautions in conjunction with an effective and safe rodent-control method will keep your home and property rodent free.

What Have We Learned?

Ultimately, the A24 Trap is an effective rodent-control solution for anyone faced with a rat problem in the home, business, or property.
